🏁 GlaGla Race Freestyle 2026: The Spirit lives on! / L’Esprit continue !

GlaGla Race Freestyle

🇬🇧 (English version)

A Passion that Defies the Cold

Why do we all love the GlaGla Race? It’s much more than just a race. It’s that unique atmosphere where the winter chill of Lake Annecy meets the warmth of our community. It’s the breathtaking scenery of snow-capped mountains reflecting in crystal-clear water. It is this international spirit of the “Pirates of the Cold” that we want to celebrate this weekend!

As 2026 is our “Gap Year” — a transition to renew the Alpine Lakes Tour and prepare for a massive return in 2027 — we couldn’t let January pass without a challenge.

The GlaGla Race Freestyle: How to Join?

On January 17th and 18th, join us from wherever you are in the world for a connected challenge.

  • The Challenge: Paddle the historic distances (3 km, 6.5 km, or 14.5 km) on your usual spot.
  • Safety First: Leash, buoyancy aid, and thermal protection are mandatory. Never paddle alone!
  • Share the Spirit: Post your photos and GPS tracks on social media using the hashtag #GlaGlaFreeStyle.
  • Validate your achievement: A dedicated form will be online during the weekend to record your performance and photos.

The Alpine Lakes Tour: More Than a Tour, It’s an Adventure. Join Us for 2026!

Since our very first race on Sevrier beach in June 2013, the Alpine Lakes Tour has never been just a simple SUP circuit. It’s a quest.

In 13 years and after more than 84 organized stages, our philosophy has remained the same: to take you off the beaten path.

Our DNA: The “Out-of-the-Box” Experience

We could just lay out a course and run a stopwatch. But what drives us is creating unforgettable memories.

What drives us is creating unforgettable memories. It’s the passion that pushed us to have you paddle in the middle of winter on a 4°C lake (the GlaGla Race), at 2100m altitude in Tignes, or in the magical setting of Lac de Place Moulin in Italy.

The Alpine Lakes Tour is a state of mind. It’s about discovering secret spots, sharing an effort in breathtaking landscapes, and joining a community of enthusiasts who, like us, believe that adventure is the greatest reward.

2026: The Return of the Classics and the Exploration of New Venues

For our 14th year, this quest continues.

The 2026 season will open in April with a stage you all love: the Alpine Lakes Tour Canal de Savières, navigating between the canal and the majestic waters of Lac du Bourget.

You will, of course, find the “classics” that are the soul of the tour: the Tropical Race, the Very Flat Race on Lake Aiguebelette, and the Alpine Paradise Race.

But the adventure never stops. Our commitment is to keep innovating.
