Alpine Paradise Race : 5 days to go ! Registration, schedule & free clinic with Titouan Puyo !

This exceptional stage at 2000 m altitude in the Aosta Valley (the valley on the Italian side of Mont Blanc) is taking place for the second time. It represents the pinnacle of the concept of stand up paddle racing in an alpine environment. i.e. Alpine Lakes Tour !

Everything is there: the turquoise waters, the 4000 glacier-covered peaks, the mountain refuge and its very special atmosphere with, in the case of Refuge Prarayer, a unique welcome, abundant and excellent food, showers and even a jacuzzi !!

For accommodation: a refuge with sauna and jacuzzi just above the lake. There are still places left at the refuge, it’s very comfortable! There are double rooms, a small and a large dormitory, showers and even a Jacussi! The refuge atmosphere was truly one of the magical moments of the 1st edition in 2019! For those who prefer to sleep in the valley it is also possible or even in the dam parking lot.

Already 10 differents countries for the virtual GlaGla Race / Déjà 10 pays pour la GlaGla Race virtuelle !

GlaGla Race 2021 will be virtual ! register now !

In 3 days, we already have 10 countries participating in the virtual GlaGla Race ! Register now and organize your own GlaGla Race wherever you are to celebrate winter on the water!

The principle is simple: everyone can organize their own GlaGla Race wherever they want, while respecting health constraints and local restrictions. Everyone is responsible for their own safety and should only enter the water if they have the necessary skills and equipment.

It would be good (and depending on weather conditions and time zones) if everyone could start on Saturday 23 January 2021 at 10:30 am, the time scheduled for the start of the short and long distance. 3 distances are available: the usual 6 and 15 km to which we have added a 3 km to really allow all levels to participate, even on small bodies of water.

A fully virtual GlaGla Race 2021

bénévoles GlaGla Race

The latest government decisions regarding the COVID-19 epidemic do not allow us to organize the GlaGla Race under the usual conditions. [informations en Français ici]

We have decided to keep this legendary meeting in the heart of the Alpine winter. The only solution is a virtual GlaGla Race.

The principle is simple: everyone can organize their own GlaGla Race wherever they want, while respecting health constraints and local restrictions. Everyone is responsible for their own safety and should only enter the water if they have the necessary skills and equipment.

As far as possible (and depending on weather conditions and time zones), everyone must start on Saturday 23 January 2021 at 10:30 am, the time scheduled for the start of the short and long distance. 3 distances are available: the usual 6 and 15 km to which we have added a 3 km to really allow all levels to participate, even on small bodies of water.

Please choose your race distance when registering and send us via the form your planned route and a photo of you (on your board if possible!).

This is a personal challenge and not an organized race.

We ask for a financial contribution of an amount of your choice (1 € minimum which goes to weezevent, the rest will go to Annecy Stand Up Paddle Club). This free amount will go to projects promoting the practice of stand up paddleboarding among children.

Registration opening: January 14th at 6pm (PARIS TIME ZONE) / 5 pm (LONDON TIME ZONE)

A GlaGla Race at least partly virtual

Due to the current restrictions in France, but also in England, Italy, Germany in particular and the not really encouraging development of the epidemic, we have very little hope of obtaining a prefectural authorization by January 22.

So we decided to open a virtual GlaGla Race to motivate all GlaGla Race fan paddlers to get together on the water for 3, 6 or 15 km courses.

If ever the situation permitted, we could accommodate a limited number of participants in Talloires for a real GlaGla Race!

Registration for the virtual GlaGla Race will open soon and for a possible live version we will wait until January 10th.
